Brier Creek Vision Care is excited to announce that we will be reopening for routine and medical eye exams beginning Monday, May 18, 2020. In an effort to prioritize the health of our staff and patients, we will be operating under stringent guidelines in accordance with recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), American Optometric Association (AOA), and North Carolina State Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Please be aware of the following precautionary changes you will see in our office: - All staff and patients will be subject to symptom screening before entering the building and temperature checks upon entering the office. If you are experiencing cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste/smell, or have a fever, you will be asked to reschedule and contact your primary care physician. If you have recently had close personal contact with someone with symptoms, we also ask that you reschedule your appointment. When you arrive, Duke will be screening all patients from their vehicle at the main entrance. Please drive up and complete the screening before parking your vehicle and entering the building.
- All staff and patients will be required to wear a face mask while in the office. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you.
- In order to maintain social distancing, we are making every effort to limit the number of patients in our office at any one time. We ask that all adult patients arrive alone. Minor children may be accompanied by one parent or guardian and patients requiring a caregiver may also bring one companion. Only the patient will be allowed in the exam room. If there are any additional companions, they will be asked to wait in their vehicle.
- We ask that all patients complete any necessary paperwork requested by our office staff prior to their appointment in order to limit the amount of time required in the office.
- All areas of our office will be thoroughly cleaned after every patient encounter. As some aspects of our examination require close contact, we will have additional forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available for special circumstances when social distancing cannot be maintained.
If you need optical services including repairs, adjustments, eyeglass selection, pick up glasses or issues with your glasses, please contact the office to schedule an appointment with an optician, as walk-ins will not be accepted at this time. We will continue to offer curbside pickup for glasses and contact lens orders if requested.
If you require special assistance or are concerned about being high risk, please contact us to make the appropriate arrangements.
Due to child care needs, Dr. Patel is unable to return to the office at this time. We are currently compiling a list of patients who were scheduled to see Dr. Patel during our closure and any patients currently scheduled or recently referred to Dr. Patel. Once her schedule is finalized, patients will be contacted. Please contact us if you are due for your eye exam and would like to be added to this list.
Brier Creek Vision Care takes the safety and health of our staff and patients very seriously. We appreciate your understanding as we implement these measures. If you have any questions about our new policies, please feel free to contact us. We are incredibly grateful for our loyal patients and we look forward to serving you again!
Sincerely,
